If there’s one thing we love, it’s a festival that delivers pure, unfiltered chaos in the best way possible – cue Knotfest Australia 2025. From circle pits to the range of different outfits, this year’s festival was everything we hoped for and more. If you weren’t there, don’t worry – we took it all in and are here to give you the ultimate rundown.
Our music taste is so diverse, the metal scene is definitely Amanda’s influence and Vashti is here for it.

The Atmosphere:
The moment we walked through the gates, we saw the massive Knotfest signs and stage, along with this electric energy – a love for the music. Metalheads had gathered, decked out in their finest band tees, clown make up, buckles, studs, and of course… masks.

The Merchandise:
What was the first thing we did? Get some merch of course. The lines weren’t too bad when we arrived, and I feel like this is because Knotfest had set up four merch stands. This was helpful to spread out the crowd. Amanda purchased an A Day to Remember (ADTR) t-shirt, that I’m sure she’ll be rocking a lot now.
The Bands:
Knotfest is a music festival celebrating rock and metal culture, created by the American nu metal band legends, Slipknot. Here are some of our standout moments from the day:
Slipknot: Amanda’s a big fan of Slipknot, this being her seventh time seeing them live. The masked legends closed out the night in their own crowd-demanding way. Unfortunately, the clown wasn’t there due to a family emergency, however they still brought the same high-energy they always do. Playing their classics like “Duality” and “Psychosocial”, with moments for Sid to spin his decks, they reminded us why they’re still the kings of chaos.
A Day to Remember: Mixing pop-punk and metalcore, ADTR brought an electric set that had the entire crowd singing along. It hit us in the feels hard, particularly when they played their acoustic version of … And we were both so impressed with how they sounded live.
Babymetal: We weren’t there to see Babymetal but thought we could make comment as we watched them while we waited for ADTR. They were interesting, great energy, lots of synchronised choreography, and a super hyped crowd who were all eager to see them.
Polaris: Representing Australian metalcore, Polaris absolutely dominated the stage, delivering a set packed with energy, emotion, and great music. Amanda spent some time in the pit and it was hectic!
Slaughter to Prevail: Also not there to see Slaughter to Prevail, but actually were very impressed. They are pure heaviness with Alex the Terrible’s iconic scream vocals, which were next-level. And they produced a pit that made us glad we weren’t in there.
Enter Shikari: An explosion of electronic-infused pose-hardcore, their set was a wild ride, had people crowd surfing and us bouncing non-stop.
In Hearts Wake: One of Amanda’s favourite, they brought a powerful performance. Few issues with the mic of their guests, but still a great performance nonetheless.
The Crowd:
Knotfest had an amazing crowd. A really lovely, genuine lot of people who were there for the love of heavy music. An incredible commitment to slipknot seen in the crowd with the huge range of masks and jumpsuits on display.

Knotfest Australia 2025 was honestly just a wonderful day with a great bunch of friends. It was everything we needed and more. Pure adrenaline, electrifying performances, an atmosphere that can’t be replicated. Our voices and legs are still recovering, but we’ll be back next year, ready to do it all again!
If you’ve never been, then we highly recommend it. If you were there, then we’ll see you again next year!
